summer exhibition LaKaserna

Dear interested art lovers and friends. Cordially invited to the summer exhibition at LaKaserna in Bad Nieuweschans. It is a beautiful quiet place located in the vast Groningen landscape and very suitable to visit this summer. The Summer Expo 2020 shows work by Betty Simonides, Marena Seeling and Gerda Kruimer.

The work of Betty Simonides cannot be reduced to images from reality. It is a fundamental search for shapes, colors, lines and materials. Marena Seeling is inspired by reality: landscapes and elements placed in this landscape by man. In her work she tries to capture the essence of these images by making and omitting choices. She captures the identity of a certain place in broad strokes of paint. Gerda Kruimer is an illustrator pur sang. In her latest work this is expressed in three-dimensional shapes in which she makes a conscious choice for a certain format and pattern. Within this constraint, it varies with sober colors until an object is created on which everything fits.
